Yes. Long time no see, eh?

I've taken quite a break from deviantart. Long story short - I kinda cut down on drawing a bit. Well, sorta. I've drawn a lot of pencil stuff, but not a lot I felt like uploading. Then I finished my sprite comics and my motivation to draw those fan characters dwindled greatly. I've also have a bit less enthusiasm for the Sonic fandom and art style. Plus, some people I watched became sickeningly emo and unappreciative of people who watched their work, which just kinda pissed me off. Then livejournal stole me away, so no urge to write in this journal. So, my poor ol' deviantart account went into a state of limbo.

So over a year later, what's changed? Well, thanks to college, I'm a good deal better on Photoshop now, and I've learned a few other programs too, like Illustrator. My art? Ehhh.... dunno if that's improved greatly, to be honest. Colouring maybe, dunno about the actual work. But I wanna get back drawing proper again. I've cleared almost all of my gallery, apologies if you've faved stuff. And I think I'm gonna clear a good bit of my watch list and start afresh.

So what art will I be uploading? (hopefully, that is - dunno if this new plan'll stick.) A lot less Sonicy stuff, almost zero Sonicy stuff I'd reckon. I'm kinda doing some slightly simple cutesy and sometimes "emo" (only in style, not content, sorta JTHM or Lenore) art on one hand. Mainly to get the hang of perspective, appealing character design and to practise that simple graphic style that does look nice. Check the new avatar for a little glimpse. Also gonna do more of that pencil stuff I do of random scenes for my own practise, although a lot of that doesn't work out too well. I'm trying to steer away from "standard anime human" and get my own style, so it's a bit hard. I may do some fanart too, when it takes my fancy. At the moment, no fandom has me hooked, but considering the amount of games coming out in the next few weeks, that may change.

And deviantart has changed quite a bit too! No scraps? Damn, deleted AND kept a lot of stuff I wanted to put there! Any other changes I should know about? hmmm....
